If for any reason that the Ford Transit gas cap has locked and will not open You will need to remove the old one and replace it. To remove the gas cap You will first have to get a set up locking pliers and grasp the cap tightly then give it a good twist counter-clockwise. The plastic pieces that hold the lock in place will break and the cap should come off. After You remove it You can go to the auto-parts store and purchase a new one for the replacement. If the auto-parts store does not carry the specific part You need You can contact the dealership and they will order one for You. The cost for a new locking fuel cap will vary from $30 - $50 depending if its an aftermarket or OEM product.
