The 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid uses SAE 0W-20 oil. Toyota recommends that You use fully synthetic oil when You need to change it. Synthetic oil is engineered in a laboratory to give You superior lubrication and protection over the moving components in Your engine. Synthetic oil also breaks down slower than conventional oil meaning You can go longer between oil changes. On average You will need to change conventional oil every 3,500 to 5,000 miles, but with synthetic You can usually go 7,500 miles. Always be sure to check Your oil at least monthly to make sure that the levels are right and that it is free from debris. Burnt or d***y oil should be replaced as soon as possible to prevent damage to Your engine.
