The Toyota C-HR makes use of the Sikkens Autoclear LV self-healing paint and clearcoat. This is pretty cool stuff: It's highly resistant to scratches in the first place, and holds up well to repeated washings. But, what makes it really nifty is that when there's damage to the paint, which happens no matter how careful You are (thank You, careless soccer moms at the grocery store, with Your scraping door edges...!) this paint basically removes those defects. The properties of the paint allow it to "re-flow" into scratches, assuming they're small enough, when You expose it to a heath source that's between 104ºF to 176ºF; just exposure to the sun will initiate the process, so You can park in bright sunlight and come back in a few hours and not be able to find the scratch: It's gone!

The toyota chr is unique in that the body of your car is equipped with a "self healing" paint texture that automatically minimizes scratches with the application of heat.
