The 2010 Cadillac Escalade uses SAE 5W-30 oil in the engine. Cadillac recommends that You use synthetic oil whenever You need to change it. There are two main types of oil on the market these days, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is newer and engineered to give You longer life and better protection compared to the older conventional petroleum based option. This means You only need to change synthetic every 7,500 miles instead of 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. I recommend that You check Your oil at least once a month. During this check You will want to make sure that it is full and free from any signs of debris that could harm Your engine.
