Honda recommends using premium-grade 0w-20 detergent oil for the 2014 Honda Accord. The service manual also states that synthetic oil can be used as well as long as it includes the API certification and the specified viscosity grade. One thing to remember though is You cannot mix them and the engine should be drained before using a different type of oil. The 5w-20 is formulated for year-round protection for Your vehicle and will improve cold-weather starting and fuel economy. The factory specs indicate the amount recommended to use when replacing the oil and oil filter for its service interval. The recommended oil change service interval should be completed every 10,000 miles or every 12 months whichever comes first.
