The BMW 5 Series might get a water leak in the trunk because the seals are worn. When a car's trunk is opened and closed repeatedly for a long period, the rubber seals in place to make the edges water tight begin to weaken. This results in water being able to penetrate. Extreme cold weather could also deteriorate the seals by making them really hard, and then they break. This breakdown will also let water get into the trunk when it rains, or even when it snows. To fix this, the old seals have to be removed and replaced with new ones. This problem should be fixed promptly, or it will result in rusts in the trunk floor.
