The kind of oil the 2018 GMC Acadia takes is 0w-20 or 5w-20. Having high quality oil is important for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into problems with the oil at some point. Old or bad oil can cause the engine to stop working. Knocking noise may come about from the engine. You could experience terrible gas mileage. A common problem is an awful burning odor. This needs to be viewed closely as soon as possible or the car might explode. Your oil needs to be changed out someday. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles or so is a good rule of thumb. If You don't replace it, there will be problems with the engine.

The 2018 GMC Acadia in its 2.5 liter engine sized vehicles, SL, SLT-1, SLE-1, SLE-2, all take 0w-20 or 5w-20 oil. All of the other Acadia models have a 3.6 liter engine. These models, the Acadia SLT-1, the Acadia the SLT-2 and the Acadia Denali, all take either 0w-30 or 5w-30 oil.
