The specified coolant used in the 2016 Honda CR-V is Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2. It's acceptable to use another type of coolant as long as it meets a couple of specifications. It should be a non-silicate coolant and should also have a mix of 50% antifreeze and 50% water. This ensures that it works well in boiling and freezing temperatures and it's never recommended that You use 100% of either unless it's an emergency. You're likely to find this brand at a local auto goods store but You can also shop online at places like Amazon where You may be able to find a 1 gallon container for around $25 or so. -
