The 2017 Ford Fusion uses OEM Ford Motorcraft extended life antifreeze in the coolant system. This is designed to work with Your Ford and be able to give You the best cooling capacity. You should never mix different types of coolant in Your engine. This can lead to the damage to Your cooling lines, or the lines that are inside Your engine block. Mixing coolants can cause rust that will make the system not work properly. If You are unsure what type of coolant You have then the safest way to top off the system is to add distilled water. This will reduce the cooling capacity slightly but will not harm any components in Your vehicle.
