The recommended coolant used for the 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid is any ethylene glycol base with A50/50 mixture of distilled water. The coolant is not used for actual cooling the engine but it is used to stop rust formation inside the coolant system and lower the freezing temperature. The differences in the coolant ingredients are made because engine blocks are made of different metals and will require different chemicals to stop the rust formation ont hose metals. It is always recommended that You flush Your coolant system every three to five years or every 30,000 miles. This is done to keep out all the rust and other debris in Your coolant system so it can cool the engine efficiently.
