The 2018 Nissan Pathfinder useS4.5 liters (4.8 quarts) of 0W-20 engine oil. This is a synthetic fluid that doesn't need to be changed every 3,000 miles like many people are used to. Nissan recommends changing this fluid every 7,500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. However, if You do frequent towing, live on a dirt road, or make constant long distance trips at low speeds, You may need to have Yours replaced more often. If You plan on takeng care of the maintenance Yourself, You may want to consider Valvoline SynPower, Castrol Edge, Mobil 1, or Royal Purple. The average cost to have the oil changed in a 2018 Pathfinder is between $110 and $140, with labor accounting for $40 to $60 of this total amount.

Because the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder has the same engine size throughout all of it trims, it used the same type of fully synthetic oil. The SL, the SV, the S and the Platinum use 0w-20 viscosity oil.
