Both the rear and front windshield wipers of the 2017 Ford Explorer use standard, multi-vehicle washer fluid. The reservoir can be accessed and filled under the hood in the engine bay. The Explorer employs a 26" blade on the driver's side; a 22 inch wiper on the passenger's side and an 11" blade on the rear window. The wiper control stalk is located to the right of the steering wheel. To activate the front wipers push the stalk upwards. To switch on the rear wiper, depress the button located at the tip of the stick. To wash the windshield, pull the stalk toward You. You can control the speed of the blades by moving a separate dial installed around the main control stick. This guide is informed by three white lines for low, medium and high operation.
