The 2000 AudiA6 Quattro comes from the factor filled with a semi-synthetic SAE 5W-30 oil, which is manufactured to Audi'S502 00 oil specification. Five liters of this stuff's going to run You nearly $40, but it tends to last a long time, and provides excellent corrosion protection, as well as good cold start characteristics. You'll usually be able to fill A4.2L engine's oil resevoir with 7.6 liters, so You'll need to buy a couple courts in addition to just the five liters. Now, note, You can go to a different viscosity depending on Your climate, but it's very important that You get a brand that specifically advertises that it complies with Audi's specifications, else You could invalidate Your warranty.
