The fuel pump on a 2000 Lexus ES300 has a relay in the engine compartment main fuse box labeled EFI fuse. The fuel pump is controlled by a fuel module in the left rear of the trunk and this is powered by this EFI fuse and is computer-controlled. A faulty fuel pump relay prevents Your engine from running as the fuel is not supplied. There are many signs of a bad fuel pump relay including loss of power, engine not starting, pump not making the common noise, and vehicle catching on fire. If the fuel pump relay has an issue while the vehicle is operating it will cut off power to the fuel pump, which will cause the engine to stall. A faulty relay may allow the vehicle to be restarted a short while later, while a completely failed relay will not.
