The 2004 BMW 325i transmission fluid type is Dexron VI fluid. This is a synthetic transmission fluid that meets and exceeds the SP3 requirements set forth by BMW. You should make sure to check Your transmission fluid every time that You change Your oil. You will want to make sure that it is filled fully and that it is free from signs of debris. Usually debris in the transmission will make the fluid reflective or sparkly because it adds metal to the fluid. The transmission fluid is there to help protect the gears in Your transmission and prevent them from having metal on metal contact which can wear them down over time. Make sure to change the fluid every 50,000 miles.
