The 2004 Ford Explorer does not have an alternator fuse. In the past there were fuses that ran from the alternator to the battery but as vehicle's electrical systems have gotten more complexAnd computerized they have removed this fuse. Nowadays if the alternator is having a problem it will cut output via the computer rather than blow a fuse that runs from the alternator to the battery. This can work better because it can detect more minor problems that could cause issues long term and it will be able to alert You so that You can take corrective actions before it winds up causing any damage to Your car's electrical system.
