For the 2005 Lexus GX470 with A4.7 L V8 engine it is recommended that You use 6.5 quarts, including the filter, of a full synthetic SAE 5W-30 oil. You don't need to use full synthetic but it will be better for Your engine long term. If You're going to change the oil Yourself You are also going to need a new oil filter and You can pick up something like a WIX51348 which is a compatible option and can be purchased for as little as $9. If You do choose the synthetic oil option then it's recommended that You keep up with oil changes every 7,500 miles but it will be every 5,000 miles if You went with the conventional. -
