The 2007 Audi S4 uses SAE 5W-40 oil. Audi recommends that You use synthetic oil whenever You need to change it. There are two types of oil that are on the market these days, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is engineered to give You greater wear protection and longer life between changes compared to conventional. This means that You should be able to go 7,500 miles between changes compared to the 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. You should make an effort to check Your oil at least once a month. You will want to make sure that it is full and free from any signs of debris that could indicate problems in Your engine.
