INFINITI prefills its 2007 FX35 with a synthetic SAE 5W-30 motor oil when it leaves their factory. While You can use a conventional in place of this, the cheapness of doing so isn't really justified given the performance You gain by sticking with the synthetic. O'Reilly usually has their house brand, which is compatible with Your vehicle, for sale for around $32. Now, I want to note that for this particular car, You might consider going up a little on the at-engine-temperature viscosity. Bumping it up to A5W40, or if You're in a temperate climate, a 10W40, since You're not going to have to worry about sluggish winter starts, can yield a smoother sounding engine. Give it a shot if You're feeling adventurous! Also, given that Your vehicle's getting a bit long in the gears, You should also consider a high mileage formula, if it applies.
