The PCV valve in a 2011 Chevy Equinox can be found on the back of the engine at the valve cover, it is pretty close to the firewall in this engine compartment. The valve is there to help control and regulate the emissions from Your engine. The PCV valve allows gases from Your crankcase to be routed back into the engine. Once they are in the engine they are combusted and released with all of the other exhaust fumes. If the crankcase gases were to just escape into the atmosphere they would cause a lot of pollution so this is a good way to help reduce and control the pollution from Your motor.
