You may have heard of a "blend door actuator" and wondered what it was. Well on any vehicle, including the 2011 Ford F-150, it consists of small motor that directs air flow for the heat and AC through the truck's vents. It is usually located somewhere behind the dash. To locate the actuator's fuse, visit the interior or cabin fuse box. It should be found on the right hand side of the truck in the passenger's footwell. A diagram for fuse placement is printed on the flipside of the panel covering as well as a "fuse puller." A blend door may fail due to faulty wiring or a broken motor as well. Replacing the actuator costs between $300-$500 in parts and labor.

In my case, I had to pull the “climate control unit” fuse. There is no specific fuse for the actuator alone.
