The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee coolant temperature sensor can be found on the lower side of the radiator where the coolant lines return into it. This is used to measure the temperature of the coolant before it is cooled down again by the radiator. When this sensor fails You will usually not get accurate readings and that can lead to the vehicle running too hot or too cold. Usually You will also get a check engine light at Your dash to let You know that there was a fault detected with the sensor. Replacing the sensor is pretty straightforward and usually costs under $200 to have it done by a professional shop.
