The inertia switch in a 2014 Ford Fiesta is located in one of three places, either in the trunk behind the paneling on the driver side, behind the glovebox or in the passenger kick panel. The purpose of this switch is to cut power to the fuel pump incase of an accident, that way if a fuel line or other fuel system component is damaged its not going to leak gasoline all over the place risking a fire. The way it does this is pretty simple, it has a sensor built in that is set to trip, like a circuit breaker, if it experiences enough inertia. When it is tripped it physically interrupts the power to the fuel pump so it can not function. To reset the switch You just need to press the button that is on top of the switch and You are good to go.
