If You have a check engine light turn on in Your AudiA3 I recommend that You stop driving as soon as possible. Driving with a check engine light can cause damage to Your car's components so it is a good idea to stop when it is safe. Once You have stopped You can use an OBD II scan tool on Your car to determine what the problem is. If You have a code P173400 that means that the vehicle has found a problem with the transmission control module. Usually it has a problem with the selector lever for the vehicle communicating with the transmission so You may notice that it does not go from park into other gears.
