The ground strap in a BMW E70 can be found running from the negative terminal on the battery down to the metal near where the motor mounts are at the base of the engine. This is a piece of braided metal strapping so it should be pretty easy to spot. If Your vehicle is having electrical issues and the battery is draining fast then checking the ground strap is a good idea. If this is loose or damaged it will lead to a loss of continuity and that can cause electrical problems to arise in Your SUV. If You notice that the strap is corroded or broken You will need to replace it to get it working properly again.
