The block heater on a Ford Explorer is wrapped around the base of the engine block. If You are looking for the cable to connect it to there are a few places that it can be. Engine block heaters are installed by the dealership and they can put the outlet in a few places. The spots to check are under the front left and right side of the bumper. The other spot to check is up near the fuse panel at the rear of the engine. You are looking for a cable that has the normal 3 prongs that You would expect to find on a house outlet. You will need to connect an extension cord to that in order to use the block heater.

The block heater cord on the Ford Explorer hangs out of the car's grill, but also can be found just inside the hood.
