The Ford Ranger barometric pressure sensor location is mounted on the fire-wall or the inside fender skirt. This sensor, much like its other use as a weather sensor, is used to determine the kind of climate the car is driving in. Mostly this is used to make changes to the fuel to air mixture in the car. For instance, if You climb a high mountain You will need a different mix than You would at the bottom. This will make Your engine run smoother over the long haul. If it is not working You don't need to panic, but You should get it checked eventually. If You are going on a long trip across the country then You should make sure it is in working order.
