You can find the inertia switch, which is also known as the fuel pressure inertia switch (FPIS), on Your Ford Ranger's passenger foot area, under the dash, near the front edge of the carpet. When You pull back the carpet, You should immediately see the switch, which is a small, grey, box shaped plastic part, held in place with a small hexBolt on opposing corners and a white switch on top. If You're not getting fuel, try hitting that reset switch on top; it'll work, unless the FPIS is completely shot. If You want to test if the issue is with the switch, You can bypass it by unplugging the harness pigtail and using a piece of wire; just put one end in one of the terminal slots, and the other end, in the other. This should allow the fuel pump to engage; if it doesn't, then it's likely Your issue isn't because of a failed FPIS.
