There's a door sensor on each door jamb on Your Ford Transit; there's also a sensor at the locks. You should see the sensor pretty easily just looking at the jamb, and they're pretty cheap, only running around $7 on Amazon. Replacing is just going to be unbolting the two bolts and swapping the new one for the old, connecting the wire leads to that after removing from the bad one. If You've recently been in an accident, it's very easy for these to come out of alignment, but they can also just fail on their own. Some symptoms of course, beyond the door ajar error, is that the dome light remains on, You end up with a dead battery, or You hear excessive wind howl --- all signs that switch has failed.
