Your Ford Transit power steering fluid type is... Transmission fluid! I know, but yes, it's true. You're going to want to add Mercon IV Automatic Transmission Fluid if Your power steering fluid is low. You'll often need to top it off if You have a steering wheel that's very stiff, or, conversely, one that's too loose. You may also hear whining or groaning noises, when You haven't recently eaten at a fast food place, and additionally some squealing noises. All of these are signs that You need to check the power steering fluid. If You're noticing that the PS fluid is constantly getting low, it's likely You have a leak that You also need to sort out, otherwise, You're just tossing money along the road when You drive.
