The jack is a simple scissor style jack and You will need to use the hook tool to rotate it to raise it into place. Always make sure to jack up Your SUV from an approved jack point. You can find them on the side of the vehicle and they are pinched pieces of metal. If You must use another spot then use the rear axle to jack from. When changing a tire also make sure to do it on level ground, being on an incline can cause the vehicle to roll off of the jack easily.

On my 2019 GX460 the jack is on the driver side of the vehicle behind a storage panel in the cargo compartment, not on the passenger side. Also it is not a scissor style jack but a crank-up hydraulic style.
