The Lexus LX470 uses any compatible Dexron III transmission fluid for its power steering fluid. That's correct, You'll use an ATF fluid for the PS fluid. A typical choice here is Valvoline DEX/MERC ATF Conventional Automatic Transmission Fluid, part number 798153, which runs about $7.50 a quart. Some common signs that You might need to top off the power steering fluid, or address issues with it, are going to be that You have great difficult turning the steering wheel, and when You do turn it, there's a loud sound, sometimes like a shrill or screeching one --- and it's not coming from Your spouse! Though there are other reasons steering may be difficult, it's usually related to the PS fluid. If You're finding that You're constantly topping off, it's possible You have a leak You need to get addressed.
