The Yaw rate sensor in the Mazda3 will be located either in the center console or under the driver's seat. The rate sensor is made to keep the car within the safety paRameters set and monitors the traction. It works by tapping into the stability ABS and traction control systems and uses them to keep the car from slipping or losing traction and it will alert You if the tilt of the car reaches an unsafe level. To remove the sensor is fairly easy and requires a few tools like an Allen set, pliers, screwdriver, socket set, and a flashlight. Always make sure to connect the battery when You are replacing anything electronic on the engine. The cost for the replacement sensor will vary from $25 - $45 depending on if its an aftermarket or OEM part.
