The Mazda CX5 will need to use DOT 3 brake fluid for most models but the skyatic models will need to use DOT 4 brake fluid. Mazda sells it's own OEM brake fluid if You want to go that route. It is not absolutely necessary but it is recommended by many owners. The brake fluid will need to be flushed and changed out around every 24,000 miles and You'll get a service light warning when it is time to have this job done. If You want to have a professional do it You can expect to spend between $200 and $300.
