If You purchase a 2013 Nissan Altima, You will eventually have various codes appear on Your dash. One of these is trouble code p2097. If You see this code, it means that after going through the catalytic converter, the fuel trim has become too "rich". This sets off the alert on Your dash. Most of the time, this is caused by a problem with the upstream oxygen or o2 sensor. First, You should check for any exhaust leaks, and fix them. You may need to also check the catalytic converter, to see if it has gone bad. Finally, You may need to replace the oxygen sensor. You can expect to pay between $34 and $98 for a new o2 sensor.

Code p2097 in the nissan altima indicates that the fuel trim is too rich after going through the catalytic converter and is often caused by a problem in the front o2 sensor.
