I'm guessing You're from the great white North; hiAnd welcome! The block heater cord for Your Volkswagen Atlas is located close to the fog light on the driver's side at the front of Your vehicle, behind that small grey plastic cover. Did You know that a Canadian entrepreneur, Sterling Roberts, has come up with a better style plug to MINImize block heater hassles It's called the "Q-Plug", and consists of two interlocking parts: One stays plugged in to the end of the block heater cord on Your VW, and the other remains on the extension cord. It only has a single power pin that goes into a single receptacle, making it easy to mate the connections without fumbling around in the dark and cold; additionally, it takes very little force to unplug, for when You (or Your significant other, sigh) forgets that the block heater's plugged in.

The heater core on the vw Atlas is located under the dashboard, near the steering wheel on the driver side.
