The VW Passat B5 glow plug relay can be found in the main relay panel that is located under the hood. This relay distributes the power to the glow plugs and gets them warmed up to be able to detonate the diesel mixture in Your engine. If Your glow plugs are not working properly the first thing that I suggest is replacing this relay to make sure that they are still getting power. If that does not fix it then You will want to check the wires to the plugs to make sure they are tight and free from debris. If all of Your wires are good and the relay is new then the plugs themselves may have failed and will need to be replaced.

The glow plug relay is located in the central relay box, which is in the front dash of the vw Passat b5.
