The Toyota Highlander low oil pressure warning light is an indication that a sensor has detected a low oil situation within the engine. Driving with low oil pressure or low oil in the system can ruin the vehicle's engine, completely breaking the motor. If You notice the Oil Light on while You are driving or while the car is running, You should stop driving and have this problem addressed as soon as possible. The presence of oil and its distribution is crucial to an engine's continued operation. Engines can work without oil, but the effect is so damaging they are only capable of running for less than 30 minutes until failing and in most cases, it's a lot quicker than that.

Inexplicably our 2010 lost all oil yesterday.I awoke to a puddle in the driveway and my wife was gone to work.I wasn't sure it was from her car until she texted me later around 5:30 that her car was making noise🤦‍♂️. I told her to come home now!. Dipstick was bone dry and no light was on at all. 😡 Explain that. I have yet to figure out the source of the leak. Somewhere around the filter housing. Either way to lose all oil and still not lock up is incredible. I added enough this morning to safely move it to my shop and it was quiet. Gotta love Toyota and synthetic oil.
