The coolant temperature sensor in a 2014 Chevy Cruze can be found on the coolant pipe that is on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. This measures the temperature of the coolant as it travels in and out of Your engine to make sure that it is within a normal range. If this sensor detects something out of the normal range, or fails, then it will throw a check engine light on the dash. You can use an OBD II scan tool to read the code and it will let You know that it's a temperature sensor problem. When You are driving You should always keep an eye on the temperature sensor in the dash to make sure that Your engine is not overheating.
