The 2017 Ford Explorer ambient air temperature sensor can be found at the front of the engine bay behind the grille. It will be on the drivers side of the grille next to the driver's side headlight. Some of the symptoms of a bad Ambient temp sensor are A/C auto mode not working properly, inconsistent cooling, incorrect reading on the temperature gauge. The price for the replacement sensor will vary from $10 - $20 depending on if You get an aftermarket or OEM product. When installing the new sensor make sure You disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues or harming Yourself from the electrical current. It will be connected by a clip and You just have to disconnect the clips and pull it out from the grille and put the new one in.
