The main hood release latch in a 2017 Ford Explorer can be found under the dash on the driver's side of the cabin. It is to the lower left of the brake pedal. To open it You will just need to pull the handle to release it and that should open the latch. From there You will need to walk around the vehicle and then use the handle that is located under the hood. It is at the middle of the hood and You will pull that towards You and then the hood can open. Knowing how to access Your engine is very important so that You can check on things if there are ever problems with Your Explorer.

Open the driver's door and look on the side of the dashboard near the door hinges. There should be a bonnet release lever.
