The Ford Fiesta's coolant temperature sensor should be located in the coolant pipe, below the air intake and behind the right cylinder head. It is used to monitor the temp of the coolant circulating in the engine and sends this data to the car's main computer. Based on information gathered from the CTS and other input, the Fiesta's computer determines how much fuel and air should be injected into the engine and whether to turn the cooling fans on. It also runs the temperature gauge on the dash. If the sensor is going bad the Fiesta may overheat and You will experience an illuminated "check engine" light, reduced performance and economy, mIS Firing and the possibility of a no-start.

To locate the temperature sensor on your ford fiesta, locate the radiator. Follow the hose on the radiators right side, and it will lead you to the thermostat housing.
