The chassis number on a Ford Ranger is part of the VIN number. This will have the production number of Your truck for that year or month depending on how many are made. You can find Your VIN number on several places on Your truck. The firSTSpot is located on the decal that is in the driver's door jamb. If this sticker was removed then the next place to look is the windshield. Under the driver's side of the windshield there is a metal plate that is riveted into place and that will have Your VIN number etched into it. You can use a VIN decoder tool from Ford to determine what options were installed on Your truck, as well as Your actual build number.

The chassis number location on a ford ranger can be found on the sticker on the inside of the driver door panel, it also is etched into metal under the driver side of the windshield.
