The Ford Transit brake controller plug location is mounted to the right metal frame below the left side of the glove box. There is a loopback plug inserted into the connector with black tape wrapping the loopback wiring. An electric brake controller is a device that sends a signal from Your vehicle's brakes through the 7-pin hook-up on Your hitch, to Your trailer. With a brake controller, the power goes from Your vehicle to Your trailer's brakes, reducing the wear and tear on Your vehicle brakes and making for safer stops.

The ford transit does not come with a brake controller plug, if you need to tow a trailer that requires a brake controller you will need to purchase and install a third party brake controller.
