In the Ford Transit, both the jack, as well as other equipment essential to the tire-changing process, such as the wheel brace, can be found in a panel located underneath the driver side seat. Gently push down, then pull on the cover panel to open it and access the wheel brace. Wheel braces are used to loosen and tighten the nuts holding the wheels onto the body of the car. As a result, they hold these nuts in place as tires are being changed, so that You dont need to manually line the tires up again. Sometimes the wheel brace may also be referred to as a socket wrench or a lug wrench. They are very easily distinguishable, as they look like an L-shaped rod with a wrench on one side and a prying tip on the other.
