The oil filter on a 2003 Toyota Camry is located on the bottom of the engine near where the drain plug is. The filter is there to help clean out the contaminants in Your oil to prevent damage to Your engine components. Every time that You change Your oil You will need to change the filter. Using fresh oil with an old filter can lead to the new oil becoming d***y sooner than it should. Also when You replace Your filter always make sure that the gaskets are new on the filter housing. A loose filter housing is usually one of the most common places that oil leaks come from.
