The oil filter location on the 2015 Chevy Equinox is just below the top of the engine. The expected cost for a Chevrolet Equinox oil change is between $114 and $126. Labor costs are priced between $45 and $54 while parts are priced between $79 and $82. You will run into issues with the oil at some point. A common problem is an awful burning smell. This needs to be inspected as soon as possible or the car might explode. Bad oil can cause the engine to stop working. Knocking noise may show up from the engine. You could experience bad gas mileage as well. Having high quality oil is essential for the engine to run smoothly.

The 2015 chevy equinox oil filter is located in the middle of the engine bay slightly behind the oil level dip stick.

Let's not get too carried away with this "top answer" here. Explode? Not very probably what so ever. The engine seize? Yes. Very likely. "Bad oil" may mean "old oil" that has lost viscosity due to the age and usage. I always change my oil in newer cars at 5,000 miles regardless of the manufacture's recommendation as some are up to 10,000 miles." "Old oil"that's gone well over 5,000, even passed 10,000 miles will not knock. It's a vehicle that's been essentially neglected intentionally with no oil changes or maintenance performed on it what so ever. 52 years old. Working on cars and trucks since pre-teen. Rebuilt many engines, brake systems, transmissions, restorations of antique/classic cars and trucks. However not a professional mechanic what so ever. Chose a different better lucrative career in electricity. Currently my shop is equipped with 8,000 pound Air over Hydraulic single shaft car lift. Speedeaire air compressor (120gal), 3 ton overhead hoist, the typical stuff for comfort... Swamp cooling, wash sink, washing maching so I don't p**s off the wife, pooper, 2 full rollaway boxes, 2400 square foot shop with garage. Don't worry about the "EXPLOSION" happening. Just MAINTAIN YOUR VEHICLE. Your car will take care of you as long as you take care of your car.
