The auto headlights in Your Nissan Altima use a light sensitive sensor to automatically turn the headlights on and off as the conditions You are currently driving in change. This is helpful for not only day and night driving but also during bad weather. The light sensor is mounted in the dashboard all the way at the front of the vehicle just before the dash and windshield come together. That sensor is the first thing to check if Your auto lights are not working, make sure nothing is on top of it. If that is all clear the next place to look is the auto switch that is built into the stalk on the steering wheel, You will need to replace the entire stalk but it is pretty easy to do.

The 2019 Nissan Ultima auto lights may stop working due to failure of the bulb or a bad fuse
