If the Ford Focus has no heat at idle then You are likely low on coolant. If You need to do a coolant change on the vehicle then You will first need to open the hood and find the radiator. It will be in front of the engine compartment and will have a clear or black plastic container attached to it. This is the coolant reservoir. It will have a drain plug and a fill plug, as well as a dipstick. You can measure the amount of coolant in there and then simply add more if You are only filling. If You are going to flush it however then You will want to open the drain plug and let flow out into a bucket. You may pour water into the container to help with this process. When the water comes out mostly clean You know that it is done. Close up the drain plug at this point and fill the container to the cool or cold line marked by the dipstick, then put the upper cap back on.

Your issue usually indicates that there is a larger issue with the cooling system. A likely cause is a low coolant level, have an air bubble in the cooling hoses, or have a worn out water pump.
