The Ford Focus power steering pressure switch may leak because of a damaged or worn O-ring that is protecting the switch insertion into the power steering pump. You will need to replace the O-ring which You can purchase from any auto-parts store. The switch is located on the power steering pump and You will need to make sure to disconnect the battery to avoid any dangerous issues. The switch is used to communicate with the ECM and tell it about the fluid pressure in the system and will adjust the engine's operation to account for increased demand. Some of the symptoms of a bad pressure switch is a check engine light on, hard or rough steering, and engine stuttering under heavy steering load.

If the power steering pressure switch is leaking on a ford focus model, replace the o-ring that is located at the center of the diaphragm.
